Adrián Navarro. Paraísos
September 12th - October 19th, 2024
Opera Gallery
Calle de Serrano, 56. Madrid. Spain
Opera Gallery presents Paraísos, Adrián Navarro's first solo exhibition at the gallery's Madrid headquarters. His works evoke a mythical environment uncorrupted by human beings, creating "an ideal place, free from their direct influence", in the artist's words. The exhibition comprises his most recent work and can be visited at Calle de Serrano, 56.
The set of landscapes inhabited by organic forms, "living organisms in their maximum splendour", which Navarro proposes to the spectator is an invitation to contemplate a painting on which to mould his own vision of paradise. In this sense, his polyhedral conception of painting is the key to understanding the meaning of his work: "painting is an expression of life, organic and expansive by nature. It not only reflects life, but is permeated by it, following its own laws of internal transformation.
The colours he uses, as well as tinting the lines, shapes and geometries, also emerge as the protagonists of the paintings, cohabiting with others in the scene. Thus, in the works of the Paraísos series, the artist constructs emotional fields that flow towards those who look at them carefully in search of an inner harmony.
Adrián Navarro's exhibition is the result of Opera Gallery's commitment to bring art and its enriching and transforming role closer to society, as well as to form part of the particular cultural fabric of the cities where its venues are located, with the aim of supporting and disseminating the work of its artists worldwide: Thinking Global-Acting Local.
