The festival's commitment has been to increase international participation in the programme, without losing sight of its clear support for Galician creators and those from the rest of the country, as in previous editions. Among the more than one hundred works by authors from around twenty countries screened during the fifth edition of the Intersección festival, held from 18 to 23 October in the city of A Coruña, the awards were given to the works competing in the three official sections: International, Galicia and Escolas; as well as those corresponding to Intersección Lab and the Transversal Awards.
Before moving on to the awards, it is worth highlighting Intersección Lab, whose mission is to support the creation, development of projects and the training and insertion of Spanish authors in the international professional circuit. The new space makes this festival one of the few Spanish festivals with this line of work, which is structured around four activities: Base, in the form of a project development workshop, 1to1 with personalised tutorials, Corte final for projects with more advanced editing and Residences for three authors to make use of the facilities provided by the organisation for a month.
